    Trying to prepare for this trip comms wise. Guy who works across from me gave me a supercharged 200watt cobra CB from his freight trucking days that will do like 50+ miles of talking range without line of sight lol. Just dont tell the CB radio police

    it'll work, we found the GMRS/FRS worked great, fairly inexpensive as well. CB will get you around, and you can avoid, or know when the truckers are getting near... I'm really starting to think if I do anymore off-track trips with no cell service i may need to invest in a ECD like spot, inReach, or bivyStick.. sure there are others....
