I should say I do it for my vehicles, because well I like those and a simple part ruining a good truck is stupid. For friends that are just trying to save a buck and having me install junk like @Running Man bought, I don't usually bother because the idea of quality coming at a price is beyond lost on their simple minds

While I thank you for the tag, can't take credit for something I haven't said (or did I <cue twilight zone theme>). I went with OEM - I think you even mentioned this one... they're pocket change.

Getting back to the pot of water and thermometer... if using aftermarket, yep I'll get behind that. I might dedicate an old pot and thermometer to this and this only since I'm not sure I want my grandmother's pasta sauce recipe simmering in a pot I had a thermostat in or sticking my food with the same thermometer but hey - that's my OCD screaming out at contamination.
    :annoyed:

Wait, I'm just joining in here but why is which way the jiggle valve oriented being debated? Did I miss something? Follow the service manual.

No debate here. I follow the manual and shit works with Toyotas.... Sometimes Nissan manuals are actually wrong though

I had to reference a Mitsubishi manual... talk about screwed up organization. had to reference like 4 different places in the manual to track down the info I needed on the Exhaust Manifold and Cat. pfft. No.

    My shit works consistently ;)

The first question you'll be asked after throwing new parts at a problem and not fixing it, did you test your parts. Just because it's new doesn't mean it's good.

    Man....

We get these people that make over 14,000/month, yet can't even finance a potato cause they're credit is so bad.

Then to top it off, I'll work it to get it approved by a lender, only for the customer to get picky and say "well I want a Lexus or BMW"

Bitch, you're taking this Chevy Cruze.

now that is sad. how do you not want to slap em in the head and educate them on the spot about proper management of finances?

Plus I like not cooking an engine or killing my ignition coils. Chasing down misfires isn't my idea of a good time, nor is surfacing a warped cylinder head. Unnecessary expenses if you ask me

Well, yeah. That is a definite leak and sounds just a tad more serious than a very slow leaking tension clamp causing the pink crusty.

The worst part is when you've got those customers that say they make over $14k and when you ask them for proof of income (because the lender asks for it), they can't prove it

Bitch, you're not impressing anyone especially if a lender is asking you to prove your income.

Good credit people don't need to prove anything.

i did find the source of the leak, crud buildup inside of hose and caked all over the metal, took me awhile to scrape all of that off
