Hey all. I've been researching and researching and doing my homework for quite a while now. I have a 2019 TRD OR DCSB. Getting ready to lift, wheel and tire it. After all i've read, I honestly cannot say that I have found a strut/spring combo/ rear leaf setup that most agree on. Just when I think I have found something, someone else mentions that they have had problems with any particular set up. I know you are all going to blast me for this, but I'm honestly thinking of going the spacer/block route. I dont' really wheel and this might be a decent option for me. This leads me to my question:

I actually like the rake that my truck has, and most of these kits are "leveling" kits. But I haven't seen one person with a 2" front/ 2" rear or a 3" front/3" rear lift. Does anyone have the same front to back combo that i'm mentioning and is there a reason no one seems to want to maintain a rake? will a 3" front spacer/ 3" rear block be a problem?? I know most of you will hate on the spacer idea but i'd really appreciate some input. Thanks guys

lol Of course someone like you would say what you said without even considering answering my question. Yea, I've read more than i care to admit on the subject. I can't afford the high end shit (Kings/Icon, etc) nor do I want something like that considering I don't off road and want this mostly for looks. So that leaves me with the 5100/OME debate which is on the more affordable side yet half the people on here bash. Most don't agree on the best OME springs to go with either OME struts or 5100's and I hear nothing but problems about rear ends sagging with AAL's and leaf packs or that the rear end is way too rigid and people go out of their way to avoid bumps. If you read my post, you'd know I don't want a sagging rear end. I want a rake. So that brings me back to the spacer debate simply bc I don't know too many people who have them that don't like them and all the bashing seems to come from people who have never used a spacer lift. I just haven't seen anyone with an event front to rear lift.

First off welcome to tw. I don’t know this guy in any way but I’m a very avid reader. Take the time to read on here about lifts and watch some YouTube videos. Not necessarily the installs but individual user videos explaining their experiences pros and cons. But as for the guy that you’re referring to, he’s quite helpful at this forum from many topics I’ve read where he’s responded. I also have to agree with the humor he found just in your logic of lifts.

Anyway spacer lift will be perfectly fine for road and looks only as it’ll likely never cause any harm. Many install them but the serious guys and high strung teens and early 20’s guys will bash you for spacer lifts here yet they’re installed many many times on many different trucks and work without a hitch.

If you can afford it, start off with 5100s. They look and ride great and they will last forever. Take off your sway bar and get some good upper control arms that have alot of caster built in so you can enjoy the ride quality.

No need starting with crappy spacers or 1500$ king's. Get entry level 5100s and go from there.

3" spacers up front will cause suspension problems. (From my research)

    Good luck

I appreciate the replies. I guess my issue with with actual suspension components (struts, springs, AAL’s, etc) is that it’s hard to predict how much lift you will end up with. There are tons of posts filled with people saying that their trucks settled over time or didn’t end up with the height the springs claimed to provide. With spacers at least you know what your getting in terms of height. I just don’t want to end up with a bro lean. Hate that look. So again I ask, will will a 3/3 spacer/block create any issues that a 3/2 or a 2/1 would not?

You absolutely have to get adjustment upper control arms with any sort of 3 inch lift up front. Your truck will dive like a meth head, especially on the interstate. As for the rear I used to run a 2.5 block and it was a hard ride but got me 70 miles a day for years. Upgraded to ome dakars, should've got them day one.

I ran 3 inch spacers on oem trd sport bilsteins with over 200k miles and it didn't hurt the struts at all.

I wanted to do OME 9000’s with 888 springs, but several people said their 888’s lost quite a bit of height. 887’s provide 2.5”’s of lift according to OME’s charts and I wanted to end up with 3. I was going to match that with the medium duty dakar pack. There just seems to be so many conflicting opinions on this setup

    First welcome to tw
I like the rake but 3 inches is a lot of lift in my opinion. After 2 inches you start to need to do more things like diff drop maybe UCAs. What size tire do you want to run? You have a great truck but in my opinion going with the spacer and block will do you and your OR injustice. Hell man you spent the money for a 19 OR spend the money for the 5100s set them at 1.5 5100s on the rear and a aal
You will have the rake, ride and look
    Just my opinion

Ok that's a big tire so look into a toytec lift ucas and most likely a cmc . That will work
    Enjoy the truck

As far as a lift goes, I say do what suits you best. I personally like the rake too. I have 5100’s, 888’s and Dakar HD’s. I prefer the ride with this set up over stock. Also, when it come to tire size fitment, sometimes the back spacing on your wheels can seriously affect clearance. I have 295/75r16’s on mine with stock wheels, no CMC, and no rubbing problems under normal driving conditions and light off-road use. I assume that I might have some clearance issues with more serious off-road use. Just my opinion- good luck with whatever you choose!

We have the same truck and color man lol. Thanks so much for the info. Do you know off hand what the backspacing is on the stock rims? I love the SCS Ray10's.

What a coincidence! If I told you a number I would be lying to you, I do know that I’ve seen that information in multiple threads though. The SCS Ray 10’s look slick and seem to be a popular choice
