    @MattCowsmasher

My clutch fluid reservoir is in that spot for the Rago Fabrication universal relay mount, but it jyst so happens it's the exact same bolt pattern.

Because of how it's designed, I had to mount it behind my clutch fluid reservoir, so you can't see the Rago "R" anymore lol. I also think i might have lost the middle spot, but it might just be high enough to still be useful. I also had to bend the tabs away from the wheel well.

Mounted my Solarex 100W solar panel, today. I don't have a charge controller, yet. Here is it's stats:
    1214191233.jpg

I started checking the connections and output according to the wiring diagram above.

    18.77 volts DC
    1214191221_HDR.jpg
Oddly enough, 1.95 mA, but the readings were inconsistent
    1214191221.jpg

Now that I verified it works (I got this panel for free), I made a plan for how I was going to mount it. I knew I would need an "L-shaped" bracket and some type of carriage bolt or "T" nut to be used in the rails. Other than that, it was just a couple bolts, washers and nuts.

I first went to Lowe's with a loose crossbar from my rack. The closest fitting bolt was a 1/4"x1"-20 carriage bolt, but i would have to grind a little off the bolt head to fit in the channel. I also picked up washers and nuts for them.

I then left Lowe's, but on the way home I realised that I forgot to buy the "L" brackets and bolts to mount to the actual panel. For that reason, i headed to Home Depot (traffic was crazy).

At Home Depot, I picked up some "L" brackets, but during the fitting process, the first set were too small, so I had to get a different set that the 1/4" carriage bolts could go through. The second set were large enough so I was able to get everything mocked up, adjusted, fit and installed.

I spare you the details, but it was a bunch of moving bolts around, filing bolt heads and drilling. The end result is very secure. The panel ground and connector bus are all facing the front of the vehicle. I also mounted it on the driver's side to get it closer to the main battery.

    Looks good up there...

Curious to the output under load.

    Thanks!

Direct sunlight it was putting out 18+ volts and 1.95 milliamperes according to my $5 multimeter. The math doesn't come to the 100W it's rated for, but the mA measurements were inconsistent, so I think it's a multimeter issue. The 18.7-19.3 volts were consistent with the data on the underside of the panel.

This panel came from a street lamp that was powered by an AGM at night, so... :notsure:

I'll find out when I get a charge controller lol. :bananadead:
