    Does anyone know of a cable that could be used merely for charging? Like tap into the 12v right there with the cigarette lighter circuit then run the usb to this blank?

    I just don’t know what I’m doing to do for my audio set up yet but I do know I always like running the usb to my lower center console where I keep the iPod. Don’t know if there’s such a thing as a “splitter” that would work off the back of the head unit so I could run one to my center console and the other to this blank.

    USB runs on 5V, so you have to convert 12v to 5V. There are plenty of options that will work. Here's an example:

    It will work. The converter plugs into the pigtail USB that the blanks are made for.
