Hey all, I just brought my 2010 TRD Sport DC MGM Taco home from the dealership tonight! I spent a lot of time on this forum before buying it and just want to say it's a great resource and has already answered so many questions I have. Pics are soon to come! I plan on putting the FJ Cruiser 17" wheels in place of the OEM Sport wheels and I am debating about which side steps to throw on. Very excited :D

    Welcome!

I don't want to be a prick, just helpful, and I don't know exactly what you mean when you say "side steps", but the 'tube steps' that Toyota offers as an extra are crap, I would suggest a proper set of sliders, if you plan on going offroad.. something that can support the weight of the truck, if you were to land yourself on a rock accidentally ;)

Jeez, what a jerk :) I won't be getting the Toyota steps, but I also won't be doing much offroading. I am thinking about just getting some 3" round black side steps because I like the look of them...

Welcome to the forum from Vermont
    Your truck looks awesome
    Happy modding!
My Toyota DC has the oval DeeZees side steps. I bought them in 07 & have had no issues. They certainly help putting the kayaks on the thule rack & save some door dings (not from other large suvs/trucks). I do not off road either but go up to the mountains a lot & out in the woods. They mounted right up in the factory spots & have held up nicely in all weather conditions. When they start to rust, I am going to line-x them.
    Enjoy your new ride!
