Automatic MP3 Tagger?

Does anybody know of any good, free, automatic MP3 tagging programs. I download a lot of music and absolutely cannot stand having poorly tagged music (incorrect titles, no album work, ect).

I'm currently using Jaikoz, the free version. Anybody know of any other good similar programs?

 

not real sure what you're talking about.. i just use verizon song id on my phone if i want to find out what song i hear on the radio or something.. probably not what you are looking for though..

 

ohhh do u mean a program that would fix all the wrongly named or missing names songs on my itunes? that would be sick. I'd love to know of a program to fix that. also I would like to know a way to download all the album art with out having to do each song manually. my headunit displays the album art, but i only have it for like 5% of my songs.

 

What I'm looking for takes MP3s on your computer and automatically finds and tags them correctly.

The program I currently use, I can drop a MP3 file with no tagging information and it will automatically find all the info for it... Title, Artist, Album, Track #, Album Artwork, ect.

 

Open iTunes, select all, right-click a song, get album art.

 

Media monkey does an OK job. it's not automatic but does a pretty good job at guessing the right stuff using Amazon as a database. You still need to select songs as an album and often pick the right choice from the possible hits at amazon.

MP3tag is probably the easiest for correcting or finetuning tags once Mediamonkey has done it's thing.

Caveats. I've not used MediaMonkey in a couple of years as my tags are pretty up to to date. It will make itself the default player for a number of file types. Not my preferred player at all but just so you know.

These are all free so there's not much sopport out there. Maximumpc.com will have guides to using these but they're probably a bit dated.

One more thing. Back up your music files first just in case something goes horribly wrong and you end up with 10000 tracks with the same name or something. I don't think you'll have problems, but better safe than sorry.
