Why aren’t XL80s available in spot pattern? Do they want you to get the XL racer for spot? I have a pair of XL80s on the way that I might use as ditch lights so I’m thinking about getting some spot lenses for them

I asked BD about that. He said the racer edition have a different reflector for the spot pattern. Less lumens but more focused.

So why don’t they offer the 80s in spot?

I was in an accident and my fogs got ripped off of the wiring and took the harness with it, leaving me with just the wires. I decided to upgrade to a steel bumper and get some pod fogs so I’m wondering if I can just connect the wires from the pods to the factory wiring without a harness. I have no knowledge about wiring and stuff so bear please with me.

Nope, Driving Combo for mine. I took Bailey's advice and bought XL Pro High Speed Spots. Then of course I took my own advice and got some XL Lasers...

The XL Pros do throw light a lot farther than the XL80s. The XL80s are amazing close to mid range though.

Is there a quick reference guide on what each of the LED's look like ?

For example what the leds in the squadron sport look like vs what squadron pro? I'm referring to what the LED chip itself looks like not the light output.

I'm also interested to see what the XL PRO vs XL Sport vs XL80 LED looks like.

Baja designs is far too busy playing in the swamp and filming it to answer tech questions and put together useful comparison videos that we actually want to see.

The XL80s weren't initially offered in Spot due to the crosshatch located in the LED. This created a small dark spot in the center of the pattern. You didn't notice it in Wide Cornering or Driving/Combo

We upgraded to the latest LED and the crosshatch is much smaller. This nearly eliminated the dark spot and provides a much more consistent pattern. We don't offer the XL80 in spot still since there are better long distance options (XL Racer)... but you an definitely switch to the spot lens if desired

I was running a pair in Spot and absolutely loved them

I guess I can see how they act as combos as ditch lights and go from there. Just don’t want too much hood glare
