i looked through that thread, a few times actually. my search is not for a bumper, info on those is easy to find as you mentioned. your right, i probably should have rephrased what i was looking for, but it’s hard to explain. what i’m looking for- a solution to avoid chopping up my bumper cover. it’s not that big of a deal, just wanted to see if anyone had thought of making a injection molded bumper corner. that’s all, nothing more or less

So you want to replace a plastic bumper with an aftermarket plastic bumper? Sorry OP, we are all just trying to understand what you are looking for.

When you install a flat top bumper on a third gen, you have to cut the stock plastic bumper. You’re left with a top sliver, maybe 10% of the bumper you actually use.

he’s hoping someone makes that 10% piece on its own.

Personally I don’t think it’s a terrible idea, but the market is way too small.

all bumpers are cut slightly different so it’d be impossible to make one size fits all. That’s why I think my suggestion earlier is the Only viable option.

I don't think it's a dumb idea, but as EatSleepTacos stated, the numerous variety of bumpers would require you to cut that 10% bumper piece, which kind of eliminates it's usefulness. Additionally, they'd have to offer it in WAY too many colors, or the buyer would have to go get it painted. After those two obstacles, the buyer would then have to store their stock bumper in a place where it won't get all scraped up. Most of us don't have a surplus of room for such things.

OP, I think the better option is to just chop up your stock bumper and then replace it when the time comes to return to stock. Sorry that's not the answer you want.

That’s why I mean it’s dumb... way too many variables, and that doesn’t even take into account offering a color other then black.

    You mean the post?
(The entire thing is a “thread”- hmmm maybe I am an expert?)

It’s ok... relax a bit, life will be much happier. You want something that is impractical. Don’t get so butt hurt every time someone disagrees with you or points that out.

That’s some serious rain man mind reading shit there.

Language...geeze. Why does it bother you so much when people give the slightest bit of criticism? People say 3rd gens are dumb, people say 2nd gens are dumb, no one says 1st gens are dumb, people say lights are dumb, people say lifts are dumb, people say steel bumpers on leased trucks are dumb. Don’t take it personally.

OP I think EatSleepTacos suggestion is your best bet. I understand what you're looking for and agree it's not a bad idea, but most if not all bumpers would most likely have a different "cut line" and would be hard for a company to make a one size fits all bumper corner. Rock Auto bumper, even try checking out salvage yards.. Maybe there's a truck with rear end damage and you can pull the front bumper off of that.. Throwing out ideas

i think my best solution is a bumper similar to the SSO streamline. the victory 4x4 one is probably what i’m going to get. i just don’t see many aluminium options, actually i haven’t seen any. i know someone has done one, just gotta find it.

If I remember correctly the Warn bumper is the only one that doesn't require cutting. I'd highly recommend the SSO though. Details are in my signature if you turn your phone 90° you can see it.
