Got ya. It seems to work like that around here. The most deadly are the fast moving ICE storms. I've seen thunder, lightning, and ICE just blast the place. Broken trees and days without electricity unless a neighborhood has all underground utilities.

Yeah that's what newer Nissan's like from 93 onward use anyway. They're basically just a microphone that the ECU can use to listen to the frequency it wants to hear. The old style like our tacos use and the early Nissan's use only resonate at one frequency (the frequency of knock for that given displacement) and are more expensive and fragile.

my area has not had a serious ice storm since October 1991 iirc

there have been a few times with heavy snow that pummeled trees with leaves still on them but was not the ice

We get like 5 ice storms to every one snow storm around here. I lost 13 trees last febuary due to ice. 4x4 makes no difference haha. You gonna slide with or without it.

It snowed in Tucson last New Years and then again this past February. Hope it does it again this next year, made for some awesome wheeling and camping!

Got ya. I guess my 98 and 99 model VQs are on the newer style.

The 91 model VH45 must have the older style.

Its a two day job to change knock sensors on this VH45. A day to take it apart, and then another day to put it all back together.

We had a year like a long time ago. I had 3 acres of property with about 40 pine trees when it started. It knocked down several. Fortunately none fell on the garage or house. It took a while to get it all cleaned up. The city just let people pile up big piles of brush along the roads where they would pick up and haul it off. The roads were lined with brush outside of town. I remember burning 3 or 4 big brush piles to get rid of it. The city would led you burn brush piles if you signed up for a burn permit and called them in advance.

Mmm it snowed in the city today, I love it! Got 3" around home too. I'll take this anyday over the goddamn endless sun in that shithole Arizona.

I honestly miss the snow but hate the wind chill I had to endure when I lived in Chicago.

Snow while living in Germany was probably my favorite.

I'm so used to endless sun it doesn't bother me. SoCal rarely even got rain. The weather here in Tucson has been far more varied than San Diego ever was.

Over 2 years ago during the summer I remember there were some bad rain storms, only to be followed up by clear skies and hot ass weather.

My dad lives in Killeen and I try to visit him every few years.
