A lot of threads on this topic but just made this for people so they can do a quick search.

265/70/17s (17x9 -12 Offset) will fit on a stock Tacoma (19 TRD OR) and it looks great. The only rub I have is when reversing and it barely rubs so its not a big issue.

The rims I have (venom rex) have a nice offset and they stick out about an inch or so and look amazing. The next thing to do is a lift

Looks great! I went with 265/75-16 which is pretty much the same as yours.

I got 265 70 17 and I get a minor rub on mud flap but nothing to worry about. Small lift will be great with these tires

I'm really interested in the full specs on this post. Trying to get max tire size for stock with some new 17" wheels but I'm not sure what offset to get.

I'm using 2nd Gen rims that are 7.5Jx17 ET30 with 265/70/17 Duratracs with no rubbing at any time. This is a shot when the suspension was stock.

    And here's a shot with a 1.5" lift

Love how it sits right now but it is still a little low. Id like to lift it for clearance and a 2-inch lift won't make much of a difference in terms of how the fitment looks now. The Bilstein 5100 are also going to give a little bit more travel as well.

I thought I put that information in the post but I did not. The specs of the rims are 17x9 with a -12 offset. They stick out a little (about an inch) and look amazing.

Did you have to make other modifications like lifts for those wheels/tires? I'm interested in the -12 but some people said 0mm max for backspacing.

Nope, as stated in the OP the truck is completely stock. Bought it without any mods and I have no issue running 17x9 rim with -12 offset and K02s. Mine are 265/70/27 and I have no issues with anything hitting the UCA and I think you might only run into that issue if you go with a bigger tire such as the 285/70/17. As far as fitting 265/70/17 on my spec rim completely stock is possible.

I forgot to ask but do you rub at all taking a speed bump? I'm a little fast on those because it's the closest off road feeling I get lately :D

Rubbing where and when exactly? The stock Tacoma sport tire size is 265/65 17. Assuming I'm understanding tire sizes correctly, going to a 275/70 17 tire only adds 13.25 mm of sidewall height (about 1/2in). I'm surprised an extra 1/2in of height would lead to any rubbing. The sport looks like it has ample room in the wheel well. I bring this up because I am also considering swapping the 17"stock sport wheels for the 17" trd sema wheels with 265/70 tires.

There is a ridge on your mud flap and it rubs just enough to take the dirt off. Only rubs when your turning hard and compress suspension. I would not recommend trying to put a bigger tire then 265 70 17 on stock

Agree. I have Sema/Pro wheels on standard factory sized winter tires (265/65/17) 70 profile is likely the max before rubbing starts on 17" wheels.

The Sema/Pro Wheels are 17x7 with +4mm offset.

These are the LTs. They're fantastic. I put them on about 13,000 miles ago. Highways are smooth and there is just enough of a hum to make them sound like they're M/Ts (full disclosure, I had super swampers on my jeep and love the sound of knobs whirlin' down the road). So far they've been great in snow and icy conditions. As far as wheeling goes, I stick mainly to light/medium difficulty trails and have had them up a few with pretty sharp rocks--no damage that I can see. My truck is more for back country access than rock crawling. I'll be getting another pair when these wear out.

I'm running the same setup with wheels and Falken Wildpeaks. I get rubbing in a tight, slow turn both forward and in reverse. I will be doing a 2-in lift which should fix it. I also want to be able to put my mud flaps back on. They are on in the pictures, but they are off now.
