Searching, I didn't see a dedicated thread on Goat armor so here you go.

    https://www.goat-truckarmor.com/category-s/148.htm

Who is running Goat armor? Interested to hear experiences good or bad. Do you leave it on all the time or put it on just for trail days/trips? Any issues with it?

@Summers_Kytaco_19 had some pics of his rig here: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/3rd-gen-magnetic-gray-thread.394569/page-432

My gen1 was badly and repeatedly pinstriped. I didn't often get around to cleaning it up so I had to look at it like that all the time. My new truck is a DCLB and with the easily scratched paint pin striping might be even more of an issue. Aside from the price Goat armor might be a good solution.

Looks like the panels provide pretty good coverage but there are some gaps and edges that aren't covered. For those of you who run Goat armor how big of an issue is this?

Any other alternatives out there for Gen3?

Seems like you'd best be appyling this on spotless paint or run the risk of inducing scratches from it.

Which would mean storing it in a very clean manner when off the truck as well.

I'm not too big on the camo look, but I was out wheeling a couple of months ago and saw some fella who had them on his rig. I'd never seen it before, so I asked him about it.

I'm seriously thinking about getting it. It's a genius idea.

I do love my goat armor! I’ve ran it non stop for about 5 months and it’s really saved my ass a few times. The owner is a great dude and will actually do custom patterns if you don’t like what you see on the website. Some more pics of my rig cause... who doesn’t like pics?!

Wow I like that! From the pics it looks like your truck is machine grey? I wonder how that color wrap would look on a Cement truck? I particularly like the arachnid pattern...hard to tell which color would work best with my truck though.

Is it easy to put on/take off? Are we talking 10” or an hour? How about running it through a car wash with brushes?

Since they say you should put on at 60 degrees or over and I don’t have a heated garage, I think I would wait until spring to even think about it. Looks much more interesting than your average paint job or wrap.

My truck is magnetic grey metallic.
It’s easy to put on and off. When I put it on, I washed and waxed the entire truck first, let it dry really well. Washed both sides of the goat armor and let it dry. It is much easier to put it on with help from another person, but can definitely be done solo as I’ve done it twice alone. When I take it off. I wash the entire truck with the armor on it. Then remove the armor and wash the magnetic part of it and let it dry. I put masking tape on it and write down where it came off of (I’m fairly OCD). The armor comes in a big tube, so I saved that tube and reuse it to put the armor back in when I’m not using it. But honestly I usually leave it on the truck. I’m about to take it off for the winter trough. Putting it on goes faster than taking it off, primarily because I’m OCD about it.

They do have long bed armor

Lots and lots of different patterns, he can do solid colors and custom patterns as well.

The owners name is Matt, I grabbed dinner with him when I was out in Denver. Super solid guy who really cares about what he creates.

Not sure if he's on the forims

I don’t think it’s on the website. But I know he’s done a few sets. If you message him directly he would probably do it for you

    not enough.
I ran into the owner in Moab on the white rim early this year. Great guy and I saw the product first hand. Pretty genius and it looked awesome. I don't think one would've really needed it there but I can definitely see the use for it in wooded areas. If you want to support a great guy, I would get it. If you want a great looking and probably useful product, I would get it.

My only reservation is that it’s magnetic. I witnessed first hand magnets destroying the paint on a truck. I don’t mean like sand and dirt got in between but the magnet actually destroyed the paint and completely washed it out.

Since then, I’ll never put anything magnetic on my vehicle. You need to completely sand and repaint to fix it.
