So few weekends ago I did the stoptech w/ TRD brake upgrade. After the last trip it was needed. I was in red territory.





After several bed in runs they were biting then I developed a nice squeel so I spent today taking it a part and removing the crappy grease Napa recommended with some more high temp stuff



I also spent 8 hrs in the rain on Friday man handling this new rtt by myself.




After several scrapes, swear words, having to warm my hands a few times was and slipping off the truck it was secured. Big thanks to @EatSleepTacos for making some tool creation suggestions that ended up getting me on the home stretch.




And the next day I opened her up to this




If you look closely at the back rear siding of the prinsu cap rack...it looks like twisted Swiss cheese. I might have got a little overzealous with ratchet and not paying attention to where my supports were when I picked up the big ass box.


Busy weekend to say the least.

Oh and I installed christmas lights on the truck.

I have 700.

Its basically a knockoff Ikamper with a much better price tag. I got it from heoutfitters. Tuffoverland has a version as well. Another company has one called desert armor.

I believe Tuffoverland is about king size...Mine is about queen size fits perfect over the bed of the truck.

 

I was researching a front locker and discovered a lot of pros and cons about installing one on a Taco. First was that IFS’s already have weak axels because of the design characteristics and second was that as one increases the number of teeth on the ring gear they get thinner and therefore are weaker. Installing a locker puts more stress on an already weakened design. But does strengthen the necessity to carefully heat strengthen a new set of dif gears. The thoughts are that the limited slip dif via the abs system is the way to go. I tried to find info on cutting the teeth in a different way than the traditional way would help but was not successful.

Does anyone care to comment?
