    Currently legal to own in OR, ID or MT (plus a bunch of other states). Sadly not for WA residents. I’d get one with my FFL, but that’s just too much money....

    Move? Ha.
    But yeah, too much money and hoops to jump through.

    This can be made less expensive with a single barrel without hurting the rate of fire (i.e. hand-cranked chain gun)

    Really? I'm kind of a brand name whore.

    It's looks really fun to shoot. $1,500-$2k vs. ~$1k though. That said, I can't say I wouldn't drop the coin on an MP5. :anonymous:

    If only. :drool:

    In those states, do you need additional licensing?

    I think OR (state level) just requires federal approval.

    Actually I believe the proper name is gardner gun. It still uses cams and a handcrank to load and eject ammo (instead of gas or recoil), but has a single barrel.

    To bad HK made some stupid ass choices with their offering. No threaded barrel and no paddle mag release. Stupid choices for an mp5 "clone".

    I'm pretty sure you're thinking of the SP5K they released a while ago. The new SP5 has a tri-lug/threaded barrel and paddle.

    Yup the k was what I was thinking. I wasn't impressed with the k model when it releases vs other clones...especially the zenith offerings. Just felt to much like you were just paying for the name

    Agreed. I'm hoping zenith and all the other clones start lowering their prices to compete with HK

    I personally am not going to trade in my PTR for an HK. I like the rail and mlok hand guard even though it's not clone correct. I think by the markings my PTR has an HK bolt. It runs like a top. I've only had one failure and that was well within the break in period.

    You mean HK lowering their prices to compete? All the clones (zenith, POF, Omega, ptr) are already 500 plus cheaper (obviously depending on model and exact features...ie included brace)

    HK....lowering price...... :rofl::crazy:

    Remember HK's marketing motto: We're HK, and we hate you. :p:D

    I have an SBR MPX. If you want to take it out for a spin, let me know and we can find a place to plink.

    I've been meaning to get in some range time.
