What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

I gotcha..and I'm all for it, I had just never seen one before. I figured the carpet would be easily torn or stained if used for hauling various things. But yeah, if you like it that's great. It's cool to see all of the different mod options these days for different people's taste.

 

My stock Toyota head unit shit the bed a couple of weeks ago (constant reboot cycle). I thought about trying to get it replaced under extended warranty, but then I never really cared for the stock unit to begin with, so I purchased and installed a Dasaita PX5 Android head unit over the weekend, along with a Carplay dongle. Really enjoying it so far!

 

Really cool. So being an ignorant geezer - with good speakers - does this improve sound quality?

 

Also a question from another geezer...what's a dongle?

 

That which dangles.

 

A dongle is a general term for a device that connects, or acts as an adapter, between a connection and a device.

 

It's what is discouraged in the Army from dangling in the dirt.......

Man oh man! 7hrs. in that jump seat? All hunched over and feeling every bump in the road you'd need lots of beer! I spent 20 minutes in one as a 20 something, worst ride of my life and I didn't even have any beer.

I currently only have the upgraded Kicker tweeters, but this unit sounds better than the stock one did, and it has a decent EQ to dial in sound.

 

In this case, it's an adapter that plugs into the head unit via USB and then I plug my phone into the adapter and it gives me Apple Carplay on the head unit.

 

Oh snap, I didn't realize that was a thing! I just said screw it and pulled them off. I just recently saw that AJT has vent rings available...
