Different years offer different pros and cons. 2014 was a special year for the X-Runner making a comeback in Canada for a short period. 2015 was the first year of the TRD Pro and only year you could get it with the 4.0L. 2020 has some new options. 2016-17 were the only years you could get a Dual VVT-i 2.7L with a manual (also the only years that used the R156 transmission).

    In conclusion, I abstain.

    You're right:

    278 HP > 236 HP
    3.5 mpg > 4.0 mpg

    Math is super easy!

I have to be impartial on this vote. I haven't experienced every model year, so I can't rule out bias towards my own model year.

I’ll vote 2017 because I think they did away with the CD player and forced the collision impact sensors upon us after that. I can play my cds and not buy them again via limited offerings thru streaming. Honestly, 2020 is probably the best. (Small improvements every year.)

2018, first year with TSS, and still has the go pro mount on the windshield and cubby in the bed on the driver's side which they removed on 2019+. 2020s are cool too since those come with android auto and other goodies!

This poll should be, What model year Tacoma do you own!

I voted 2017 for obvious reasons!

3rd gens have too many problems. A 2015 Pro is the most desirable Tacoma out there IMO.

My 2019 JBL has the CD player. :notsure: 2019 DCLB OR Tech Premium because it includes everything, but not Toyota Connect. A true Unicorn
