i am thinking that water pump is a bit pricey, parts plus hour labor to thoroughly clean the area after 12 years
    but i really don't know

i am going to check all those part #s to get the price down
they say they do not mark up prices but i honestly think they do

    :spending:

this was from indie Toyota shop
    $103 hour labor

so a water pump would make it more than $1000 where you are at?

that is a decent price. either that or I overpaid the mechanic last time around. He charged me 800 and I had to buy the parts

Next time around, doing it myself. BTW, noticed this -

    upload_2019-12-16_12-9-29.jpg

Gee, thanks for that Service Department... shouldn't charge it to begin with since you have to remove all of it to get to the TB but glad ya stated it so it sounds like i'm getting a deal. o_O

dealer mechanics here will charge extra for that
they will ALSO charge for a FULL radiator service from coolant lost taking hoses off
    i kid you not!

they cant - bad business practice and more than likely illegal in any state.

as for the full radiator service, well yeah - when you change hoses you have to drain the coolant so...

my family, who has made no effort to make christmas plans with me aside from passively saying it would be nice if I came to visit sometime this month, asked what dates I was coming out for christmas.

Can't wait to deal with the incoming shitstorm for telling them I wasn't planning on coming and that I would rather do something on my own this year

so this shop only charges for a gallon of coolant, not the $100+ radiator service the dealer charges in addition to timing belt service

Speaking of ripoffs, I had several shops quote me $600 to have a new muffler welded in place...

Go to ol mehicano shop down the street and get done for a lil over 100. That's how much they charged me for the glasspack and I have a one year warranty lol. Gonna have them throw another line over the weld points before my year is up for good measures

Rug arrives to the house today via FedEx; will drop that off tonight at the new place if I get out at a decent time from work tonight.

Tonight, unplug my PS4 and Nintendo Switch, TV and other things so I can 'prep' them for the move tomorrow to the new place.

Tomorrow, spend the day cleaning out my closet and dropping a lot of it off at my storage, not to mention the 10-15 shotguns and older rifles I have under the bed :anonymous:

Next day, run my usual errands, take the significant other/ex/w.e. out to eat, she's between Outback or Red Lobster; I still treat her like my gf lol

Between those 2 days, head out to a few stores and see if I can buy a new bed and mattress so I can finish up my apartment sooner.

Those days will run quick, and I'll be back posting on Thursday how it's my g'damn Monday and I'm back to work :jerkoff:
