    That was my situation. GEICO offered to start repairs right away instead of waiting on the other insurance company. I paid my deductible when I picked the truck up and got it back when the other insurance company paid out.

    Don't talk to the other insurance company. Let yours handle everything.

    Did your insurance cover it or did there’s? I received a recommendation for a body shop that is out of network for my insurance (AAA) but they said I can still go through them. AAA would need to negotiate the pricing with said collision center. That being said, if anyone has any other recommendations for a collision center in the East Bay Area all the way down to the Livermore Area, please let me know.

    After talking to my insurance, everyone is in agreement that I’m not at fault which means my rates won’t change - regardless of if I go through my insurance or the other party’s insurance. I feel like I should go through his insurance since he is at fault but I’m still undecided.

    Did you have rental car coverage? I opted out of it since I still have the 4Runner but my adjuster mentioned something about receiving an “inconvenience fee” of some sort for being out a vehicle. Not sure if you or anyone else has any idea what this is.

    Mine covered it in the short term. They eventually got reimbursed. I got reimbursed for my deductible about two or three weeks after I picked up my truck. The other insurance company paid 100% as far as I know.
