This is definitely something in want in the future. I wonder what the weight capacity is...

As for weight, we do not have an exact weight limit for the rack. The Rack itself can hold up to 600-700 pounds. But the Tacoma roof is only rated for 500 pounds. The true limitation is not the rack, but the roof itself.

For that amount of $$$ why not get a Prinsu? Proven quality and craftsmanship. Cali raised is know for taking cheap products, rebranding them and then up charging.

You probably are referring to their LED light pods?

Their rack seems much different than Prinsu & Victory 4x4 and has some nice features unique to their own design.

I like the idea that you can cover the light bar up.

    Dumb but serious question.

Why the concave at windshield/roof line? Why not flush? That little but of roof line showing triggers my inner autism.

As close as that thing is to the windshield/roof I'd be worried that any body flex would cause contact with the painted surface.

If your roof rack and roof are moving in different directions things are going very wrong.

Perhaps. But when you're off-road every damn thing wiggles/twists a little bit here and there.

The Prinsu and Victory have similar clearances and in the 6 years I had my rack mounted it didn't touch the roof. If opposite corners of the roof are doing different things your glass is gonna be a bigger concern.

This. Talk to me when I dont have to change change a design just to install it. Until then, it's more money for gas.

Access cabs are not designed for roof racks. Double Cabs come from the factory with threaded inserts and are reinforced for additional weight. Access Cabs have neither of those features, if you want to have a roof rack on an Access Cab you need to drill and install rivnuts and will have an indeterminate weight rating. That is common across every rack and won't change until Toyota redesigns the roof.

It's not the flex, it is the contact vibrations and dirt that will work its way in. That contact and small movements will eventually eat through the paint. That is one of the reasons for panel gaps in the body, they may have gotten much smaller over the years because of increased tolerances, but they still need to be there.
    Best to have a gap.

Again, 6 years, weatherstripping to prevent noise, plenty of dirt was introduced, no paint damage, not an issue
