Nope, the lettering is where it should be. Mine are the same way. And I wouldn't take it off if I were you, the lettering says "SAE F 19", it's a quick way to show any LEO that your lights are compliant to the legal standard.

I was thinking the lines in the lens should be horizontal. That's why I asked.

The lines in the optics are vertical so they can aberrate light widely to the sides, without spreading the light vertically. If the lines were horizontal you'd have fog lights with tall, skinny, vertical light patterns.

These lights are interesting. I assumed that the fitment bezels would be plastic, but they appear to be made of cast and powdercoated aluminum. More capacity as a heatsink maybe? I think it's that way for all bezels as well, including generic applications like square and round.

I am slightly on an incline so not perfectly level.

I drove a mile or two on the street and I am really impressed with the output! I can see so much more out here on the country roads. Very pleased so far with the diode dynamic SS3 pro amber fogs.

Is it just me or do the fogs only look brighter then the fogs and low beams?

The camera aperture is not controlled, meaning the pictures show intensity differently in each photo. So the pictures are not comparable for showing output. Below is a post of mine on the topic.

Had my first early morning drive in to work with my SS3 amber sport kit. My initial impressions are that they are a great upgrade over the stock halogens. Much more illumination towards the side of the vehicle and road. Installion was easy but I am a little concerned about how there is only 1 screw securing the new SS3 fog/bracket as it is much heavier than the stock foglight. After install and tightening the screw it isn't very rigid and is pretty wiggly. However, I did not notice any bounce in the light as I drove in this morning and no real fear of the fog falling out of its designated spot, as there are tabs it loosely rests in. Has anyone else with the SS3 Tacoma kit noticed this? I will think of a solution soon as I have time to tinker.

It should be fine. I've had my Baja fogs in for a year now and have gone down some BUMPY long roads and I haven't had any issues. I'm nearly positive they mount the same way. I wouldnt be too concerned about it.

When you say more illumination to the sides, you mean forward illumination with higher intensity at the sides of the road? Vs wider angle pattern of projection? The TRD fogs have an extreme wide angle throw to the side of the truck and I have yet to see any forward mounted LED match it.

The once screw and double tab mount is common on 3rd Gen. The Rigid 360s and KC G4s are the same, reusing the OEM hardware which only utilizes one screw. 12-15 2nd Gens use two screws and the double tab mounts.

To me, it seems overall to be wider and more intense. I should have stated I had Laminex yellow film on my TRD fogs before, so that probably limited them to some degree.

Exactly, unless the screw backs out you're fine. Which I'm not worried about. Just noticed the amount of wiggle and bounce in them and wondered about light bounce during driving etc. Makes sense. You put a heavier aftermarket fog and its only secured by one screw, on one side, and the other side is just resting loosely in some tab slots. There will be movement. I will see what a zip tie will do at some point. Or I will just forget about it

Correct! I think you'll have some difficulty removing it if you try. We are continuing to work on methods to get the mark on the actual lens, but currently that's where we can place it, sideways. Sorry for the odd cosmetics, but it is indeed a legal requirement.
Correct, it is more for overall durability and rigidity as this is what keeps the entire seal in place. But it does help with heatsinking!
Glad to hear you're liking them! I've been driving around with a set of White Pro fogs for a few months now and any other fog light I drive with seems so weak. Got a chance to use them in a snow storm a few days ago here, and they really surpassed my expectations in inclement weather.

We did notice exactly what you are referring to when we were doing the initial development and testing. I think you might have trouble if you swap the fog too many times, since it is a plastic screw holding it in place which may strip out with enough use. But we didn't see any need to secure it further, it should hold just fine in place. If we hear enough feedback, we can easily add another nut and bolt to the kit with instructions to add a hole to secure it more, but we want to keep things as simple as possible if we can. Although yeah, I wish they would have just used two screws from the factory like the previous gen and the 4Runner, for peace of mind.
