That's how I am too. I am ecstatic just getting Xmas cards!!!! One of my friends wife sends out a Xmas letter. I'm like a puppy waiting for a treat until it comes. Then there are the ones I get from far away. I really like those. We send out more than 60 cards a year.

Some people just go overboard with gifts. Our family use to be like that. We would say "no gifts" and sure enough, you'd show up and there they were. You are one of the most generous people I know so it is no surprise someone gave you a gift like this. I'm a huge Citizen fan boy so like you said, 300 or 3, either way this is a fine watch and one you should have for a very long time. They are practically indestructible too. That's essential for guys like you and I. The only time I take mine off is when I am wrenching on something.

Looks great! Just curious, why soft top vs hardtop?

Right now, Money. This is a third of the cost of a hard top. Also, I wanted to see if I would be ok with a top on a Tacoma. When I had my Tundra I had a hard top and it was ok. I was glad I had it carpeted because I was constantly bonking my head. I had that roll up tonneau on my last Taco and it was great. Very secure, looked great, never an issue. We took a trip to the beach once for a week and I had it completely filled and some of the back seat too. Now while a soft top is not as secure it will make up for the shorter bed if I needed to pack stuff in there and keep it out of the weather. I take my own trash to the dump up at the house (7 bucks for me to do it when I have to, like every 7 weeks, or pay over 30 bucks a month for the trash man to come once a week whether I have any or not). So if I have a larger than normal load, with this top I can fold it down and load it up. But I expect to not need to do that all too often.

Since I am so impressed though with how well it looks (the black) on the Voodoo Blue with the other black things (tires, fender flares, wheels, Snork, soon to be Prinsu, and sliders, etc) If and when the time comes to replace it, I might just go with a hard top. Especially if I can get a used one the way I want cheap. And by the way I want, I mean, one of those higher than the cab versions, with windoors. I don't care what color it is because I am gonna bedline it black. This Softopper was just too good a deal to pass up right now. It's only 6 months old and included the storage boot. I'll likely keep it on all the time though.

Yes, a bed rack. There are some that are flat bar and some are tube. Since the sliders I am putting on are primarily tube construction I think that's the route I would take. I watched a video that @TaKoToy provided the info on where two guys "walked" the fully erect top out from under a bed rack. Personally I would like to have the bed rack be tall enough so that the top could fold up. I was so excited to get mine installed I didn't play with closing it. As soon as I can though I want to see how high that is. It might be ridiculous. Also, because the side rails of the cap are clamped down, and are the full length of the bed sides, it would be best to have a bed rack with full length bases. I have a really nice ground tent so I don't see myself putting a roof top tent on the truck. So any bed rack I install would be for solar panels or other cargo that doesn't fit on the cab rack. The sides of the bed racks are nice for things you might need like a high lift jack. I have that 60" version and I swear it weighs like 80 lbs. I do not look forward to mounting that on the roof of the truck and having to get it off. So mounted to the bed rack at chest level would be much better. I have to be careful what I put up top on either a bed rack or a cab rack because the entrance to the garage here at work is only 7' on one entrance and 6'-6" on the other, the one I use. My snorkel is close to 6'-6" so that is my guide. If I put the Prinsu up there and mount that gun case and it is above it, I am in trouble.

My ultimate goal, soft or hard top would be to have an overland trailer with a tent on it, and room below for a camp kitchen, essential cargo and dual sport motorbike. Some time in the far future if at all.

I definitely recommend you don't look anywhere else and Call Danny Milby at Koons of Easton. He worked the entire deal over the phone, sight unseen and we were able to get the best deal there than anywhere else. We drove a little over 2 hours to get there. It was so worth it. It was the best buying experience of the last 15 vehicles we have purchased. I will not go anywhere else from now on.

Here I am, a very happy man!

Here he is in the bitter cold and wind that day making sure it was perfect for me!

Also his Dad @Fire Arrow aka Jim is a member in the thread and he was the one that contacted me about his son. I am so glad he did.

Oh yea, my manners.......Welcome to the forum and the Kool Kidz thread :hattip:

You're making a good choice. I had a 1999 Ram, gasser, and a 2006 Ram Diesel, then I got rid of that and got a 2012 Tundra, and my 2014 4Runner Trail replaced that, and was ultimately replaced by my 2017 Inferno Tacoma Sport, but someone decided to total it for me so now I am in a 2019 Pro.

I hope I am done for a while. :bananadead:
