I’ve had my 2018 Tacoma for over a year and a half now and I still don’t understand what is supposed to be wrong with 3rd gens. If anyone tries to tell me I have problems but just don’t know it, they would be wrong. I’m damn near 50 years old and have bought and sold more vehicles than most. I’ve pretty much driven them all. I love the Tacoma and I’ve never been brand specific

I’ll tell you what’s wrong with the 3rd Gen! Nothing the wrong people buy it. As lots and lots of people have said before, 99% of the people on this forum bitching about there trucks would be 100x happier with a car or a Ridgeline but don’t like the looks. They expect the truck to perform like a car then get mad it performs like a truck! Which is why the Ranger appeals to so many people. It drives and handles like a car. The Ranger is more competition for the Ridgeline not the Tacoma. People like us who actually bought a truck expecting a truck love the Tacoma those who bought the Tacoma expecting a mustang well they bought the wrong truck. More wrong bad life decisions than bad trucks!

Pretty sure that a majority of these same people are completely miserable with all aspects of life, not happy with anything, and just looking for something to complain about.

My personal truck is a Tacoma, my work truck is a Ranger (both crew cabs). I feel that they appeal to different audiences. The Tacoma drives and rides like a truck. The Ranger drives more like a car.

The only thing I like more on the Ranger? Ford still uses real steel bumpers on the front/rear and it gets better fuel mileage, especially on the highway.
