I replaced the alternator in my truck it's a 2010 Tacoma 4L and now when I shut off my truck take the keys out even open and close the drivers door. There is still power going to every thing. What cold this might be ?

If you are stranded and need someone to come rescue you, post your exact location. If not, then change the thread title.

Sounds like you reconnected the wiring incorrectly.

Your battery will be dead soon.

Wanna be a little more specific? Radio is on? Headlights on? Dash idiot lights on? Engine won't shut off?

The windows will still go up and down and the park light in the dash stays on. The ember lights in the head lights will stay on and the heater blower will stay on.

Are you pulling the key out with the ignition in the accessory position?

Sorry to hear about your troubles. I'm hoping we can help with this problem....My $0.02 - Sounds like a failed ignition switch....or...a faulty alternator. The alternator usually contains diodes that when one or more goes bad, current can back flow from the battery through the alternator to the key-on circuit. So, to test, unplug the harness from your alternator and see if the problem persists.
Did you have any problems leading up to you changing out the original alternator? I'm assuming you changed out the original alternator because of bad output? more information please....

The fan doesn't work on accessory.
But wow, change an alternator, and nothing shuts off now.... Weird

Unplug the battery first. Could it be a stuck relay for the interior?

I unplugs the alternator and everything is normal plugs it back in and the problem continues so can it be the alternator it self ?

It almost sounds like there is a relay related to the alternator stuck open. Though rare, it does happen. Check all relays related to the alternator and if accessible, remove the relay for the wipers or an at the moment not useful accessory and run it in its place. If the issue recedes, problem solved and you'll have to pick up a relay.

x2..I would swap for another alternator. Likely a faulty internal regulator causing it to go haywire. It isn't likely the ignition switch since the issue resolves when the alternator is d/c but battery still connected.

I agree with the alternator theory as it was the only thing that was changed.

Just changed an Alternator last week that did this, it back fed power and tricked the accessory relay on.
