I have the 12v solutions version. It's 100% plug and play. I would say no more than 30 minutes to do. I also have the cellphone add-on. I wouldn't say it's necessary, but I like it because I always forget to lock my doors. It's nice to be able to pull up the app to check. Also, my key fob doesn't seem to be able to penetrate my house walls at times. I can use the app to start the truck and I get a confirmation that it has started. It's also has a location deal on it. I can't say how handy that portion is. Maybe for parking?

12v solutions customer service is on point. I've gotten few minutes of turnaround with emails on a weekend. If they had more crap for me to buy I probably would based on that alone.
