Hey, how are you liking the ridge grapplers? Any rubbing? I'm getting a lift after Xmas & plan to go with the 285/70 grapplers on the grey semas as well. Hoping I can squeeze the rekgen mudflaps in there too. You will soon have a doppelganger cruising Denver.

Some people with Pro models report slight rub on tight turn due to softer suspension? you notice anything?

No, I've never had any rub at all. Full cab, in reverse with wheel fully locked still doesn't rub on mine.

Finally got a set of the matte black wheels. Before I put tires on. Is their anything I can do now to provide some protection from break dust or dirt? Possibly a clear coat or ceramic coating?

Kings, 275/70/17, a few custom items, lots of Meso mods.
Jet Seal makes a sealer for Matte finish.

Sorry for the delay... but I joined the dark side and got a Tundra! The RidgeGrapplers were great. Quiet yet effective in multiple environments. Especially here in Denver with all the snow. Hopefully you made your mind up by now... happy trails.

Has anyone felt any power loss with the added weight of these tires?

Yes. It is noticeable, but not a show stopper.

Could you go into further detail of how noticeable?

With the slightly larger heavier tires, I notice less off-the-line acceleration, less responsive braking, a harsher ride, and lower fuel economy. Not enough that I’m changing back, but noticeable. I also switch between my C-rated bfgs to e-rated snow tires, and all these things are made even worse by those tires.

Anyone here who says otherwise is out of their minds. Larger, heavier tires will diminish available torque, MPGs, and ride quality. By how much is mostly subjective.

I would say it’s “marginally worse”, but the benefit in appearance to the truck, and the perceived durability is worth it to me.

You gotta be honest with yourself is all. All the fellas fitting 33”s etc are achieving a fashion statement first, and additional capability 2nd.
