Seems just a few bottles, I only saw one other review on Untappd that said the same thing. Maybe bad capping or something. It was sour and disgusting. They’re going to replace the bottle though

Probably will be fine. If it was a big issue, they would have issued a recall on them

So my buddy asked me what I wanted from 450.. gave him a cooler for him to use so it wouldn’t take up space.. and he comes back without any and says ‘didn’t know you wanted anything m,’ but he used my cooler

At Newgrass for dinner. Double Berliner with raspberry and bergamot for her and a citrus and sage saison for me.

Followed by an elderberry lager for me. Very interesting and delicious brew.

So, I am pretty sure that it is the Apocalypse. In short order, the moon will fall from the sky, the sun will burn out and zombies will be loose in the streets.

    Well, it feels like that.

Granville Island Brewing, each year, puts out their Lions Winter Ale, for which us local aficionados wait eagerly with baited breathe....GIB does it right; a small batch, not usually out until Christmas is in the air, and when it is gone, it is gone...until next year. Not like an overpriced coffee purveyor who caved to the corporate greed of their stockholders and made their pumpkin spiced lattes available in bloody August.

It is a fine ale, deep flavour, chocolate and vanilla, feels like a warm fire with your sweetums cuddled next to you, listening to Buddy Brown's Christmas songs.

But back to the collapse of civilization

I will concede that I am old enough and grumpy enough to be put off by change for the sake of change, and I am a traditionalist...(It is Merry Christmas, not happy holidays...the Queen is the real leader of our Nation, NOT that snowflake in Ottawa....the folks south of the 49th are our brothers and sisters, not 'foreigners'....National Anthems are meant to be sung with gusto and flags are meant to be respected...etc)

And, DAMMIT, Lions Winter Ale is supposed to come in a six pack of bottles. NOT in a four pack. Of. Freakin. CANS. It is just not right. It is not natural.

Yes, it still tastes as I remember it...it is truly a wonder, a nectar of the gods. But nectar is, by the very laws of the Universe, compelled to be contained only in virgin glass. Not in cans made of recycled lesser automobiles, like Ridgelines.

    Sigh.

And I am NOT being a baby, despite what my wife says. Did I mention that she seldom, if ever, drinks, and cannot possibly understand? And this, coming from the woman who was about to launch WW III over the downsizing of her favourite instant noodles (It's a post-menopausal Hong Kong woman thing, methinks)

    Sigh.

I reckon I will have to accept it, as I did the notion of gender neutral loos at our local community centre....the alternative was spring for separate facilities for five different genders. THAT would have cut into the space used for the bar, which would just be unacceptable.

As Chad Prather says, if their logic is faulty, they will fail. I'm not about to cry, I'm not going to go protest in front of the brewery, I am not gonna go swoon in the street, and I am not going to go seek out a Safe Space...unless it is well stocked with my requesite libations.

    (Early) Merry Christmas

When leaving the brewery, I grabbed a 4 pack of Brujita. A dry hopped lager. This is quickly becoming my favorite style of beer.

Yep. I’m not impressed. I always snag him what he wants and he makes a big deal out of paying me up front and trying to trade me shit we didn’t agree on. This is the final straw imo.

last time he tried trading a growler of BCBS. $4$ trade in bottle would be fine, but I don’t need 32oz of flat beer.

Yeah I do not like trading for crowlers. Way too many variables that could go wrong with those.

BCBS is way overhyped IMO..... :crapstorm:

Had a few more last night. Julius is still my fav, but Haze is right behind it. The first one, punch, was just too much lime for me. Still good stuff.
