Specifically I was wondering if i would get any lift on a 2008 4cyl access cab if I use basically new 2011 struts from a double cab v6. It looks to me like mine have 8 coil loops and the 2011 struts look like they have 9. And what would a fair price for these coils, all 4 shocks and stock ucas be? He said less than 5k miles on them when removed.

Welcome to TW. If your Tacoma is a 5 lug, this will not work.

The springs will fit but it's going to be a crap shoot on the expected lift and ride quality of the V6 springs on a 4 cyl. The springs are rated differently due to weight differences between the truck models. I would always go new when it comes to suspension. Chance of installing twice due to unsatisfactory results isn't very appealing.

I just put OEM bilstein front coils from a 2015 dcsb trd sport on my 2013 AC base 4 cyl. They fit just fine and from what I can tell there is zero lift on the front end. 4 cyl motors have cast iron block while v6 is cast aluminum, not a crazy weight difference between the two motors from my research
