So, I have some pictures from the visit to the Battleship New Jersey, but they are not as good as the ones I took on the Wisconsin last month. I will try to find some.

I also have pictures of a Soviet submarine from a trip to British Columbia in February 2001, but that was a few years before my parents got their first digital camera, so they’re all “old school”.

The visit to Abraham Lincoln was in April 2002. Again, this was right before we got a digital camera. My dad did take some pictures of me on the Lincoln, but it was and still is an active aircraft carrier, so there were restrictions on this; This was especially true since our visit was like seven months after the 9/11 attacks.

I’m positive I took more, but these pictures are from no later than April 2012 and my external hard drive self-destructed in July 2012, so they are long gone; These are copied from my Facebook.

 

It always sucks when the Navy names a ship after a landlocked state, because then they can’t display the ship in that state after it’s been decommissioned.

The Missouri is in Hawaii, though in that case I wouldn’t have it any other way because Mighty Mo is standing watch over the USS Arizona.

The Wisconsin is in Virginia and as of this post I forget where the Iowa is located. The New Jersey is the only one of the four Iowa-class battleships docked in its namesake state!

 

Just looked it up; The Iowa is in Los Angeles...

 

I have been on the Mighty Mo a few times for events and stuff. Pretty cool to see the history. There’s also the USS Bowfin their which is a old submarine. I didn’t take that tour cause I didn’t feel like walking hunched over the whole time.

 

The cousin who I went on Wisconsin with is currently a park ranger. His dream job is to work at Pearl Harbor and live in Hawaii full-tome; I think he’d love it at first but eventually get tired of it like you did. Hawaii truly is paradise, but you’ve gotta have a fat bank account...

 

Very true, and it gets boring day in a day out the same thing, and same places.
