Gotcha glad to hear its potentially a tune thing. I havent had much to to look much into the HPT thing yet. This is a whole nother can of worms, but how are most people having these trucks tuned via HPT right now? Is vehicle information being sent to someone and then they send back a tune to match, or are people getting it dyno tuned or street tuned?

I had HPT on my old silveraydo and had it street tuned. Not sure if thats what most are doing with the HPT.

I've done a number of them (~70) remotely via street tuning. Essentially it can be done a few ways but the general method is folks pick up the HPTuners MPVI2 and download their stock calibration, email it over, I load a base map onto it and email it back, they load it and datalog. I'll tweak the tune as needed or assist the end user with the tuning depending on their comfort level.

Gotcha gotcha. That’s an impressive amount considering how long it’s been available to the Toyota market! Mostly positive results in proceeding this way?

Shot you a PM regarding pricing

I've not heard anything but generally positive feedback. Some folks want "more", some want a "little less", so I wouldn't ever say I please everyone 100% of the time. But I'm happy to work as hard as I need too, to get you what you want, the way you want it. And many of the folks in this thread and the HPTuners thread can tell you their experiences as I'm not generally one to toot my own horn (too much ;) )

Can't recommend highly enough, you won't be disappointed in both throttle mapping (linear feel), full power band responsiveness and the shifting improvement. I have the Ratiotek kit in as well and now my cruise control is actually useful while towing.

Glad to hear man! What’s your background with tuning? Tuning is something I’ve always been interested in learning more about but... time.

Glad to hear, thanks for the feedback! How does the tune pair with the RT kit?

It pulls and pulls. @JustDSM does wonders with the powerband and @nd4spdbh throws together quite a nice trans tune with it. There are so many adjustments and so much more freedom with HPT. I bought a few books and scour the HPT thread to just datalog and make tweaks. These guys are great and always here to help.

Only con or caveat is keep/get a spare ECU to keep handy in the rare case you brick your ECU. This is not a requirement and rare at that, but the taco is my daily.

Do these cover any dash lights? Do they stick out enough to see over them?

I wouldn’t say they cover up the lights or distort you being able to see what’s needed in the dash.

Mine cover the signal light indicators. But signalling is for squares anyway

Yeah, I am literally getting mine installed right now with the fx250 clutch. I wantEd to wait but was advised that I may have to wait a couple of months before it happened. Whatevs, they gave me a decent price with the black Friday deal.

Good catch. I always feel receiving a middle finger means I was the winner.

Let me run this past you guys...

I’m thinking about selling my complete engine and trans. Wondering what you think a realistic asking price would be?

    2013 4.0 Auto
    98,500 miles
-Magnuson SC that went on at 70k
-Oil changed, pins greased, and new solid nose coupler, new spark plugs approximately 5k ago.
    -2.55 pulley
    -61 lb injectors
    -7th injector
    -@roostfactor pulley wrap
    -Aluminum coolant reservoir
    -Mercedes coolant pump
    -Rausch tensioner
    -DT long tubes
    -UCON
-Auto trans has IPT valve body that was rebuilt and installed at 70k

I could also throw in the aluminum FJ radiator and the fuel tank with URD fuel pump installed.

    Thoughts?
