Bored in a two day training

Every year.... same info... why??

 

Aren't those a blast to go to? You must not party it up enough after the training to make it worth your while.

 

A ton of people I work around need "Competent Person" training

 

Right? If your accounting department doesn't question your expense report, did you even try?

It’s on company property so there is no party’s. Haha

 

Doesn't mean you can't go off property.

 

I like the 3 hr osha refreshers.
Nothing like sitting thru training videos from the 80's.

 

At the end of the day but by then I’m ready to go home and drink less expensive booze

 

It's refresher training. I conduct training for a living and I hear that shit all the time. "We had this training last year!" Yeah, that was last year num nuts, this is this year!

 

we have shorter “refresher“ classes thru the whole year. This class is done every year in December because it gives people with certs CEU’s.... I don’t have certs so it’s real boring to me

 

Every year. We get the same list of CBLs to do. Then have an in person part to do as well.

Too bad my current job has nothing to do with helicopters.

 

I just wish i had been the one to pay off the refineries in the area to get the contract to do it for this area. $50 per hour per person per year average hours needed....maybe 6. People that go through Southeast TX refineries per year, prob. at least 50K.

So 50,000 x 6 x 50 dollars.

edit: They got rid of the human teachers a long time ago. I used to think "Oh well, at some retiree of the plant got a decent job again".

Now you just stare at a screen and listen to the robot.

 

Every year I had to take secure coding training, secure customer data, secure financial this that and whatever. I haven’t produced production code in 20 years.

 

I have to take my yearly "Don't bribe people" financial manager course. I have yet to be in a position to do anything even close to that.

 

Never had to use it, but that training was fun for me. The guy next to me didnt seem to enjoy it after he let out that he didnt know how to swim.

 

Half the class on mine couldn't swim, which was surprising. I felt bad for the instructor, who was constantly hauling grown ass men to the side of the pool and saying things like, "maybe when you fly, you should sit in the middle and not take a window seat. With luck you might be able to follow someone out after they open the hatch."

So did they demonstrate on yours that a 10 person lifeboat can actually hold 10 roughnecks?

 

We just finished ours in 2.5 hours. AND, I was called away from the meeting to troubleshoot for 30 minutes.
