There is always a chance to pass a kidney stone from an energy drink as well.

Yes. I installed 4. After roughly 1,500 miles the pintle caps started to melt and deform. I posted pics in a recent thread about misfires. I have purchased an OEM MAF that was not from a dealer that has the correct markings and works perfectly. I think that was overstock item. Now that I've benchmarked the fuel trims for the new MAF I will swap in the original an run a benchmark to see if there is a difference. The MAF box does use the correct font. There are some parts that are ok like the aircabinman belt kits and others that are dangerous counterfeits. The problem I see is how to enforce a legal remedy with a back room operation in Beijing. It gets complicated but I think we can help members have a keen eye for the counterfeits.

No they are not as good. They are not a quality Chinese clone like we find in some things. They're junk.
On these injectors you can tell just by the font on the labels that it's a knock off

Not sure on the MAF, I'd be suspect of it

Just to add to this comment. Why did I only install 4 counterfeits in a 6 cylinder engine when I purchased a set of six? I suspected problems and sent the set to Florida for testing before installation. Two of the six were underperforming that would have resulted in lean conditions.

Fine by me. Seen plenty of full grown men crying even on loads of narcotics while trying to pass stones. I'd pull out a cath on my own too given the choice between that and passing one

Several years ago I had 2 kidney stones over a year because I would always drink right before bed...when you're constantly having to get up in the middle of the night to piss like crazy, you're on your way to kidney stones. Also not drinking enough water but that's a given. I don't drink anything at least 1 hour before bed now usually

Luckily both of mine were small enough to pass on my own without going to the doctor, but it sucked

Severity definitely depends on size. I'm sure yours were 3 mm max and thankfully they were so u didn't have to waste money going to the ER or anything. Glad to hear u recognized behaviors that help avoid further recurrences. I don't wish stones upon anyone lol

oh yeah you work in a hospital huh? you've probably seen some crazy ones then, I shudder to think of what it would be like to get one the size a dime or something...fuck

yeah mine were small, hurt for a few days before they finally passed through though

man this topic is making me queasy just talking about it...look up kidney stone on google and for symptoms all it says is "PAIN" haha

pain in the dick is more like it

Yup, done ER, Hospitalist, and now am currently in outpatient Primary care setting so I've experienced all three fields and what's entailed in each haha. Usually past 4-5 mm is when u CANT pass it and they have to do lithotripsy. If u don't it could end up getting stuck in ur ureter and u end up with an admission in the hospital; IV fluids, IV antibiotics, the whole deal after they end up likely doing the operation anyways haha.

They can get pretty nasty, definitely important to be aware of ur own body and know what's "right" and what's "wrong""

Good thing you got a diesel. The SO goes to school outside of town and so the 5.0 already has 90k miles...its only 3yrs old.

Not looking forward to the high mileage maintenance I'll have to do on that Coyote...
