An adapter harness wouldn't be hard to make if they were otherwise compatible.

infotainment.com will have the Carplay retrofit kit available for sale soon.

I rented them out my 2016 Tacoma SR5 and they were able to install it in my vehicle. They created a plug and play harness, they programmed the rearview camera, and I was able to use Carplay, and SxM worked. The only thing they still have to finish up is the dynamic NAV which according to their imports guy is a "different beast". I am ok with just Carplay as Waze is easier and better imo.

Do they offering the cables only? or the entire system in the future?

Plus, can you show us the Carplay screen shot?

They sell the whole system only. Their explanation is that Ebay units may not be functional or compatible. At this moment I cannot take a photo since I am about 1200 miles from home for the holidays. That photo was taken maybe a week ago.

Their prices are absolutely ridiculous. $1900 to go from Entune to Entune premium, then you have to buy the bezel for another $270. I did mine for $300 with a like new unit on ebay. This is not Entune 3.0. I'm just stating the prices from what they currently offer.

Sure it's pricey, but Toyota techs couldn't do it and were going to charge me 4k (new headunit) + PLUS labor costs. An aftermarket unit just does not have the same appeal as OEM and I will need to do custom wiring which is not a problem until I realized that my steering wheel switches did not work and required wire cutting and soldering. I chose not to do that and returned the aftermarket unit. I know my way around CAN, so its not that I couldn't do it but more of I just will not do it.

I only posted this info to help the people out with an OEM option that is very soon to be released.
I do not know for sure. I only rented them my truck for testing. The radio needs to compatible with vehicle and make sure that it has the programming for the camera in the back. Also, those ebay units don't come with the media hub.

My main goal with this kit is the OEM Carplay which retains all my factory features.

It is convenient, I am just afraid its going to be $2500+ once released which is absurd. I understand the appeal of OEM completely, I just removed my aftermarket carplay radio and swapped in a Entune Premium because I like the OEM fit/finish and intergration into the vehicle.

What kind of aftermath hu have you been looking at? Almost all the premium aftermarket are all plug n plug with steering wheel control, and at half the cost of this.

This is an absolutely ripoff. Just like those carplay adapters for stick headunits that essentially works by t-big into the camera feed with some quirky way to turn on CarPlay. Just get an aftermarket headunit and be done with it. The Chinese Android headunits with wireless carplay has become very popular and reliable; and at a third of the cost.

Like I said, I am only letting people know that there is an option since it was asked. I got what i paid for and I am a happy camper.

yeah and the Earth is flat...

They payed me to rent my Tacoma (this was stated already) on Turo.

I just joined this forum because I was googling Entune 3.0 hacks, since I have one and I know the entune 2 you can do video while moving or something of the sort, and I saw this post and decided to help the gentleperson asking a question about carplay.

With that being said, I will be posting a photo once I get home from vacation for the other gentleperson who asked me for it. I respectfully ask, as a new member, to stop asking me to defend myself on why I decided to post here.

    Happy Holidays

I am 65 with "snow on the roof" and beg to differ. I just paid cash for a 2020 Limited. I am also very tech savvy as having been in a very tech heavy job (recently retired). This is my 3rd Taco and am enjoying all the little tech improvements on this 2020 version. I especially like the app on my phone that tells me how much gas I have, where it's parked, if I forgot to lock the door, and has the remote start. Life is good.
