Perfect. Just put it in the center rectangle below the Toyota logo.

Are there any updates for the unit?

I'm not sure if it's because I've been updating the apps I use, but there's a lot more freezing and rebooting lately.

Oh and my reset hole doesn't work.

I don't know about updates, but my reset button also appears to be non-functional. Fortunately, I didn't need to reset after all.

There is one that I think was released on 31 October. A link was posted a few pages back. I downloaded it, but haven't loaded it into the head unit. I tried to do it this weekend, but the head unit couldn't find the file. It's probably the way I have it on the thumb drive and need to move files around. I'm screwing around with the USB inputs right now, and will probably try again when the parts show.

Once you download the file, unzip it and you should see an update.zip file. Move that file (without unzipping) onto your USB drive or SD card. The head unit looks for the "update.zip" file. I made the mistake of unzipping the update.zip file and moving individual files over and that won't work.

I would caution about the update if you're using the Carlinkit Carplay wired dongle, as since the update I get a blank screen when trying to use Carplay and have not figured out how to fix it.

Crap. I think I deleted the zip file. I'll have to see if it's still in the recycle bin. I freaking hope so. It took forever to download. Thanks for the help!

I don't use CarPlay, so I hope I'll be okay. Any other oddities you've noticed?

The process has been straight forward for me too. Download the update.zip, put on flash drive, the unit finds the file automatically and updated. I use the built in carplay with the Zlink app. Update has been fine.

I’m assuming you have the PX6 then?

You can just zip the files back up and make sure it’s called update.zip

Connect how? I didn't see the point in Android Auto, so I never bothered. I did try and download the app when I first got the headunit and I couldn't. If you can get the app on the headunit you could run Android Auto that way and it'd scale everything down for simplicity, but I sort of doubt you can do it from Android to Android, if that makes sense. (In about five seconds someone will prove me wrong).

I think you need a $5 app to run Android auto directly on the unit. I think it's called headunit reloaded.

I'll try to update my head unit soon. It's been randomly rebooting more frequently. Sometimes it freezes until I shut the car down for a minute.

Has anyone figured out how to increase phone call volume to match music volume while using CarPlay?

I tried increasing volume levels in the settings for system, bluetooth and the others. Nothing seems to work.

Prior to the random rebooting, do you like the Dasaita over the Halo9? I'm thinking about going to the Alpine from the Daisaita... Lol.

I had subwoofer engine noise(with the truck on and off) from the sub inputs that went away when I plugged into the rear line RCA. That and the crazy difference with low phone call volume vs music I'm regretting the android unit.

I love the native android of the Dasaita and not having to plug in my phone, but the Alpine sounds a lot better and doesn't have bugs. Tempted to switch back and wait for either alpine to come out with something similar to the Dasaita or save for a 2020 OEM head unit.

Anyone wire a sub directly? I’m curious which of the RCAs I should use.
