    Hi!

So I have a 2006 2.7 4 banger that had a bad Water Bypass Pipe. I disassembled the intake and intake manifold in order to gain access to this part, which seats below the intake manifold next to the thermostat.

Took everything apart, put everything back together in the same order. Now I hear what sounds like a vacuum leak which I cannot find and the truck is super rough, can't run it. If I press the gas it will run/sound fine, but once I let go, it starts sputtering and it dies. Initially it gave me a million check engine codes P0123, P0300-0304, P0124, etc.

Now this is what I did, I took off the throttle body and cleaned it with alcohol, it was very dirty. Disconnected battery negative and put everything back. Started, now no check engine codes but problem persists, it sometimes idles, really roughly and looks like knocking, but idles. Sometimes it dies. Still hear the vacuum leak on idle, but not when revving the engine.

Any ideas what it can be?

Planning to get MAF cleaner tomorrow and try that, and cleaner for the Throttle Body as well.

    Any help appreciated

Get it running, spray brake cleaner around all possible leaks. When it changes RPM, you've found your leak.

Never knew about doing that. Thank you, will try it.

I wonder if its the intake manifold itself... though I do not think it is, since the leak doesn't seem to be in that area.

If you hear a vacuum leak then................................

A vacuum leak that you can hear will cause all of the problems you described.

If it was running fine before you worked on it then something is amiss with the reassembly. It could still be a vacuum leak on the intake or you may have missed a vacuum hose somewhere.
