Isn’t your truck pretty new? I haven’t needed to change a key fob battery yet...

not sure if you follow @crashnburn80 LED fog thread but he found the BD lights to not be SAE and they issued a fix to the lenses.

Squadron Sports are illegal for road use and should never be run on the street with other traffic. It isn’t that they are too bright, they lack any cut offs in the beam pattern for street use, meaning they blind everyone on the road. Diode Dynamics and Rigid make lights with similar output that have actual proper SAE cut offs to be street legal and not blinding, while even possibly putting out more light in the fog region since the light is more concentrated.

Here is a Rigid SAE pod left vs Squadron Sport right. Both have equivalent output, the difference is beam pattern.
    upload_2019-12-18_17-14-53.jpg

Those were the Squadron SAEs (not sports) and yes they failed SAE compliance. Baja is redesigning the light to reduce uplight but the output intensity and cut off is still rather poor. There are much better products available from KC, Rigid and Diode Dynamics.

    Thank you sir!

I am coming up on my 2 year anniversary on like Jan 9th or something.

I leave my key in my truck 99% of the time, and it gets cold which doesn’t help the battery life I don’t think.

I change the batteries in the fobs for taco, charger, and harley annually. And in the case with the bike, I keep a spare battery on the bike.

Not yet, they have the Sports ready to ship but are waiting for the next batch of Pros to come in. I’ll be reviewing all 4 lights.

Dam, just ordered sports from another member and now not sure what to do with them...no room for another off-road light.

They are pointing aa far down as they can. The round plate on the face makes it impossible for them to go any lower.
Mines an '09 bought 10/08 and I still have the factory battery. Never replaced

I'm going to look into those now, I thought the BD were SAE compliant but clearly I was wrong. Glad I read this thread before pulling the trigger.

The "keyless" vehicles, have an active transmit in the fob(maybe queried by vehicle?) Uses batteries faster.

Dont live under the assumption that they can go years. Most I have gotten is 2 years. Worst was when it died on bike. Stopped for gas... couldnt restart it.

    Change it every year.

A regular keyless entry fob, can last MUCH longer, especially since it only uses power when a button is pushed.
