Installed new dome lights.. and now ...

Was trying to Install new map lights, got one installed and it lit up, but wouldn’t turn off. So I hit the switch in the housing that solves the “constant dome light being on” problem.

well I noticed that all interior map lights / rear dome light and my puddle pods didn’t work after that.

Got some great advice from @MESO to check my Dome Fuse 7.5 IIRC.

I checked it. And a few others , and none are blown.

So where do I go now ? Dealer ?

Yes. I was one of the people who did not disconnect my battery.

However there have been plenty of other people who have left their batteries connected and been fine.

I’m not here to get the usual keyboard warrior response. Just looking for some ideas.

 

Wasn't a keyboard warrior response, just a heads up. I was wondering why he would put a statement like that.

 

Any change in status on this problem. About to install mine.

 

Lemon law before its too late

 

Try pulling the lamp you replaced, leave socket empty. Maybe something is shorted out.

 

Probe the top of the fuses with a test light you got a bad one somewhere...or a bad circuit board in the overhead console.

SO, update ...

we tried fuses. I tried checking wires, tried changing Original lights back... then rechecked my fuses and realized I missed the one I should of checked.. it was blown. I fixed the fuse, and now they work... however ... now my sunroof buttons no longer work , and neither does my traction control button. When I push any of these buttons, it actually just lights up all my new interior lights.

MESO, sent me a whole new unit, so I’m switching that out tonight to see if it works.

Will follow up when I can
