I've got a 2019 OR that I've swapped the TRD Pro grille on to. I have never had the PCS alert (5000 miles down), so naturally it got me thinking that maybe I did something I did when I swapped the grille out. The radar cruise works fine. No dash lights indicate a problem...

I'm tempted to bring it to the dealer, but that'll mean reassembling the OR grille...

For now I suppose I'm looking for info on how often do people see it? Has anyone tested PCS?

I commute in downtown traffic / stand still traffic every day. I really can only get the PCS alert to ding me if I am dangerously close to rear ending someone. It senses speed differentials and distance to object. I don't recommend "testing" the PCS unless you want to crash your truck for fun. You can go to the dealer to get the system re-calibrated but if there's no errors the dealer will say everything is working as it should.

If the ACC works fine I would not worry. They use the same system.

My grill is dead stock. I have only had it come on once and like above I was inches away from a car that was backing out of a spot at what appeared to be full throttle.

It didn’t slam on the brakes or anything, just told me to stop. I have no idea if it would stop my truck had I not reacted, but I’m not willing to find out.

Maybe put a big refrigerator box in the road and test it?

If there was an issue it would light up your dash. As already said, if cruise works and no warnings, its fine.

Awesome. Thanks for the replies. Just didn't want to put the OR grille back on because I'm lazy :D

    Lift and cap so far...
I ran smaller than stock snow tires (crazy right? Looked ridiculous) before my lift and the sensor would fritz sometimes (speed calibration I expect) and it can certainly hit the brakes. Hard. I wouldn't worry about it not working if there's no alert (which it will show, for instance if it's iced over)

It breaks, but there is no guarantee that it would be able to stop the truck. The system is mainly designed to alert you to break. It can start breaking if you are too slow to react, but the idea is that you will take over the breaking at some point.

I think it can completely stop the truck at slow speeds, but at higher speed it would only slow it down to reduce the severity of impact. The reason why it doesnt act to stop the truck at high speed is to prevent the loss of control. If it were to slam the breaks at 70mph without the driver reacting, it can cause the driver to loose control of the truck.

There are several factors that need to be met before getting a warning. I have had the warning beep at me and it was a little too close for comfort when it started beeping.
