My truck's CEL turned on this morning in Colorado's cold winter temps. The two codes showing are P0455 & P0441 both Evap related. However all my traction control related lights turned on as well and my truck is in 2wd. Why would the traction lights all turn on with the evap codes?

Same thing happened to my 4Runner when the gas cap was loose.

I could suggest checking the gas cap to make sure its on tight and recheck.....reset codes and check for faults. See if this eliminates the codes and with any luck .....the traction control related lights will disappear as well.
    Cant hurt by trying....

I tried tightening it already and resetting. Didn't work. I'm more just curious as to why the traction lights are coming on. How are they related?

I'm pretty sure the VSC and TRAC lights always come on when the CEL is on. Wife's RAV had the same lights so I pulled the codes and ended up replacing the O2 sensors which corrected the issue. I went down a deep rabbit hole trying to determine what in the hell the O2 sensors have to do with traction/stability control. The best I could come up with is they don't have anything to do with each other but that all Toyotas throw the VSC and TRAC when the CEL is on.

EDIT: Does your cruise control (if equipped) work? Once I had diagnosed the RAV as O2 sensors, I put off the repair until I actually drove it myself and found that cruise wouldn't work. Super annoying. That was enough for me to replace the sensors ASAP.

Hmm that's interesting. I really hope you're right. I haven't noticed any odd handling or traction issues which is good. I'll have to check my cruise control here soon. Thanks!
