Which is a weird feature. I can't wrap my head around not having 1 in the chamber.

A lot of states aren't like that at all.

Guess it depends what part of Oregon. My broader point is that you have to draw and re-holster each time, in ostensibly public places. A good carry setup requires none of that and allows you access if such a need arises.

Last I checked, vehicles have windows? :notsure:

Even as gun friendly as Utah is, and the fact that I carry a gun daily, I think it'd still give people pause. Just one guy's opinion.

To holster a gun are you picking it up, waving it around everywhere, and using exaggerated motions to get it in your holster? I do this daily and have yet to see anyone even bat an eye....

Where do I hide my pistol? Holy shit , where do you guys live Afghanistan ?

Don't get me wrong I sometimes move firearms in the truck , but they are in locked cases on the way to the range and back to the safe where they belong lol. Good god man , stop watching so many movies.

I'd rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it. It's highly likely I will never use one of my guns in self defense. But being prepared isn't a bad thing either.

Ever seen "A Few Dollars More" with Col. Mortimer? :D

In all reality, I just leave it in the holster so I have no reason to be drawing all the time.

I keep my CCW on me most places I go. When it hits the fan, regardless of where you live, it goes down quick and close. Given the range of most defensive shootings, there's barely time to draw let alone reach a locked container and go through the motions. I wish it weren't that way.

Keep in mind the last shooting that went down today was at a damn retirement home of all places. You don't get to pick the time and place.

    https://www.wgbh.org/news/local-new...s-at-housing-complex-for-elderly-and-disabled

WESTERLY, R.I. (AP) — A shooting at a Rhode Island affordable housing complex for elderly and disabled residents left two people dead and two others injured Thursday morning, police said.

Westerly Police Chief Shawn Lacey said a 66-year-old gunman killed a 47-year-old woman at the Babcock Village apartment complex and injured two others, a 38-year-old woman and a 66-year-old woman.

The gunman then killed himself. He was found dead in his apartment from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, Lacey said.

That hassle is the main reason why I haven't purchased one of these magnets. My carry gun just sits in my waistband at the 12 o'clock where I can access it with a seat belt on. The magnet may be a good idea if you keep a backup gun in the glove box, but I would think a cheap holster would server better and be more versatile.

Risk to reward of CC or OC is way too high for it to be worth it.

You don't always get a vote in the matter. Ask @RobP62 and his recent vehicular gymnastics

I mean if I'm stupid enough to use a non-positive retention holster in a vehicle that isn't on my body, I definitely don't want a chambered gun bouncing around in an accident.
