I 'think' you are inquiring about the POWER tailgate lock, and NOT just a "tailgate lock". Of course they still come standard with the tailgate lock, but NOT a power tailgate lock.

I was referring to power tailgate lock, pressing the lock button on the fob. Sorry.

Did you try the OEM kit? Wondering if it works on your 2017 to pull the trigger on it on my end.

Not yet. Probably not till after the holidays. Or maybe xmas with my bro.

I'm going to take a multimeter to the pins to make sure the lock is attached to the same pins as the KTJO 4x4 kit. All the others should be pass through.

    I'll post my findings.

Yeah I know. You go in EBay and they have like 10 of the same listings just in different areas. I guess I could do that as well. I just haven’t found the time to do that myself. I guess that’s also the difference of this being a full time job verses something on the side to just help everyone out and make these amazing accessories and mods available for others. :) Thank you for the compliments though. I greatly appreciate it

It is currently being made for my tailgate lock and opener as we speak and should be complete after the holidays  I’m having @DSIM complete it as I thought he did an excellent job when I asked him to make my 3rd Gen Power Folding Mirrors Install Video

Sorry to hear about your purchase. You can purchase my PNP Harness to save yourself from splicing your factory wires though with that kit.

What problems were you having because I didn’t hear about too many issues other than just a couple members that waited until like 8pm thinking that they had until midnight to make purchases but the sale ended at 5pm. Unfortunately, they missed that the sale was advertised all week and weekend that it was only going until 5pm on Monday 12/2. I did give them the chance if they wanted to submit their order I would honor their purchase at the discounted rate though :). I thought you had been one of them, but maybe I am mistaken. What questions do you have? I would be happy to answer any of them at this time or if you’d like to shoot me a separate PM that would probably be best.

I also forgot to mention that I do have a pdf install guide, when you make a purchase some individuals request the pdf version as well. On my TacomaWorld thread, I have a link to my own tailgate lock and opener install that you can follow a step-by-step guide where I have pictures and narrate each step.

Why don’t you just remove the grommet and install the harness inside the exist grommet like this

    6219AA8E-0EEC-4ECB-879D-FFF944207A42.jpg

Why do you need a brand new grommet? That’s nice they provide a new one, but it kind of seems like it’s unnecessary and money spent that doesn’t need to be spent.

Umm is it me or does Toyota have these in the wrong place? (Aka. Don’t pay attention to the middle part. Those are just my connectors in my Passenger and Driver Side PNP Harnesses for the Smart Handle)

OEM Red Wire is Pin 5 and OEM Green Wire is Pin 4.

I think it’s like one of those added features some dealerships maybe can add now to a package and charge you for on the tag kind of thing as a special feature maybe

The 2020 Tacoma doesn't have a harness going through the existing grommet under the passenger seat so you'd have to cut that and then re-seal it if you wanted to re-use it. In fact, that's exactly what the pre-2019 OEM "pop'n'lock" kit recommends doing in Toyota's install guide. The newer OEM kit is easier to deal with. That OEM kit includes the grommet already sealed onto the replacement wiring harness so all you have to do is run the harness through and pop in the new grommet.

The kit also includes a replacement set of double-clips at the tailgate that seamlessly attach the new harness to the existing tailgate harness without having to cut open the existing harness and run wires through, etc. The OEM kit truly is a "plug-and-play" solution.

Does anyone have the 2020 OEM install guide that it's supposed to come with it, that they could scan and send me? Mine wasn't in the box.
