FYI I forget not everyone knows these things .

Now this is up to you I have seen so many Air safety switches plugged by Teflon Tape .

    The same with Gas solenoids

This is most often in maintenance departments where they only have a few machines in the plant .

    Something to think about.

So is this a warning not to tape the gas connections? I was curious about that since my buddy I borrowed the millermatic from did tape his, but the one I just bought was not taped.

Ive never taped any of my bottles, 5 at home between the welder and two torches and 5 at work. Never had a problem with them leaking.

The threads on the gas fitting is not what seal the gas connection, It is the nipple against the receiver that seals the fitting.

For Compress air fittings, I would go with brass over other metals as the threads sit better and seal. Those threads do seal the connection.

Put whatever bit you need in it, insert in screw, twist direction you want to go with your hand while holding pressure then whack it with a hammer. Works great!

I’ve been building more sliders lately and recently had a female coworker ask me if I’ve been working out. Said she could tell a difference. Haha.

I can see it being real so often stuff like this is bought in huge lots of companies going out of business .

Warehouse customers not paying rent .

How places like Rock Auto can sell so cheap

Sometimes it is even bid on having no idea just what might be bought .

If a pallet of these tool sets where damaged the whole pallet would in most cases be rejected .

Sometimes it is more cost effective to just sell the store contents then pack and ship to another store

Take it for what it is worth .

More a problem with The Air Safety switches in Plasma Machines .

Once they no longer work the machine will not power up because it sees no air pressure .

Some people will put Teflon tape on every threaded connection out of habit.

    Reserected from the dead.

Agreed. Use care when using the tape and keep it from entering the air system. You don't need 10 wraps of the stuff.

I bought an Ingersoll Rand Titanium QT impact wrench for $10. Was told it had no power. Took the quick connect off and fished the teflon tape that was collecting on the intake filter. reassembled and works great.
