That’s a good specific number- 4ish % is not a huge factor in my mpg then. I’m a teacher and we are coming up on Christmas break so I will get a highway tank in very shortly here.

I just can't agree with you here.

I went from +17.5 MPG down to +15.5 MPG and all I did was swap from P-Rated Hankook AT's to C-Rated Duratracs. Same size tire.

The most fuel efficiency I ever saw out of this V6 was when it was bone stock running the BFG Rugged Trails. I averaged around 19MPG. Once I even got 21.5 MPG on a road trip, I'd traveled 130mi by the time the needle showed 1/4 empty. Never seen that happen again.
    • Bumping up to 265/75's P-Rated lost me around ~.5mpg. 18.5 MPG average.
    • Rock sliders took another half. 18 MPG Average
    • Roof Rack was a bigger hit than I'd anticipated, lost about 1 full MPG actually. 17MPG Average
    • DuraTracs went on, lost about 1.5MPG down to 15.5.
18.5 down to 15.5 All within the span of a year.:facepalm:It is what it is. Cost of doing business with the 1GR-FE.

Aren’t the engines after 2011 dual vvti? That’s what my 4Runner was and have read that people say that is good for another 1-2mpg also

On my 2002 GMC Sierra 5.3L V8, I went from Load Range C Goodyear Adventure avg. 18 mpgs to Load Range E Yokohama Geolanders avg 15 mpgs now.

My 2009 Tacoma w/ 280k miles has a 3" lift and armor (front bumper, sliders, roof rack, skids) but I have Hankook Dynapro ATM tires at 41 lbs each on 17 inch aluminum TRD Sema Pro rims, I can get 21 MPGS on the highway at 65 mph. At 75 mph, I'm at 17 mpg. At 80 mph, I'm more in the 15 mpg range.

I blame the Load Range E tires in your case more than anything else.

If you can get over the additional noise, the performance of a upgraded Y-pipe like Doug Thorley flows more efficiently with 2.5" mandrel bent piping. The stock pipe is restrictive and shaped for clearance (hindering performance). Just my belief after seeing it first hand with record logs of increasing 1-2 mpg.

Agreed. Asinine of me, did you just switch to winter mix? That can easily mess with mileage, especially city.

Asinine, nah. I do always get better mileage when it's parked, just never put 2 and 2 together til you pointed it out. I have just switched to winter mix, but I have also been tuning up and fixing as stations have changed over so I think any improvements I made have seemed negligible. Maybe in the spring I will make a sudden jump in mpg.
