Ball Joint Boot HELP!!!

Just recently had 5100's put on front and went to have my oil changed and they said my lower ball joint boot had been pushed up. It's not leaking, but I need to pull it back down in place anyone have any ideas, even if possible. The dealer told me that I had to older an entire new uppercontrol arm assembly kit for over $400.00. I said are you kidding, for a $3 dollar boot. So PLEASE help me, the boot is not torn, justpushed up. Thanks to all, and to all a good night!

 

I can't see why you'd need an entire UCA assembly. So long as you haven't squished all the grease out of there.

And even then...why in the hell can't they just take a syringe of grease and relube the fucker.

The lower boot is not available as a separate part, so you must buy the ball joint. The ball joint is not available as a separate part, so you have the buy the whole LOWER control arm assembly.

I would either try to get the boot back into the proper position, or continue to monitor and fill with grease when needed. i did this for over two years on my '98 Tacoma and the joint still hadn't developed play...
