I made space on my covered patio. My other grills are to big to go up here. I've only had it a couple weeks. I've made smash burgers, cheese steaks, and bacon/eggs a few times. Omelets are super easy.

I don’t have the room for anymore grills. I have a Weber 22”, GMG smoker, and a gasser. My patio is fully maxed out. I would have to get rid of the gasser for one. Which is why converting the gasser is my best bet. Just get something to replace the grates or go on top.

My uncovered patio has a Weber Genesis lp, Weber performer charcoal, and a 22.5 Weber smokey mountain. This made more sense to keep covered since I plan on doing breakfast and stuff on it... Big meals that take a couple trips to carry the food in and out.

They are messy inside. They splatter. I was banned from cooking them inside so I had to get a griddle to do them outside. I had done them in a cast iron on the side burner of my lp grill, but that's just inconvenient.

Yeah this is a holiday edition with a lid. It's also slightly taller than the regular 28 and deeper front to back at 21" compared to 16".

One of these days the Bills and Vikings will play each other in the Superbowl and one of them will finally win :anonymous:

You are 3 years younger than me, damn you are an old fart :D Bills first for me and other teams where ever I have been stationed or lived. Lived here for 20 years now, I KNOW why you moved to Texas this cold shit hurts the bones when you get older.

Saturday doing wings for the Bills game. Monday night football you know who I am pulling for...

If your gasser is a Weber easy enough to convert with a griddle.

I do like my high wall griddle that fits on the propane blind stove also though. Heavy beast and takes awhile to come up to temperature. But once it does stays there.

Hmm I see a common theme with my griddles. Bacon.

Scrapple when camping during hunting season though.

So got some welding blanket felt for the Lowes Pit Boss clearance pellet pooper. Had some rare earth magnets, but not enough to insulate all of it and ordered some more tonight to pretty much finish the job.

    insulated.jpg

Much warmer tonight and played around with the different settings on the smoker to do another steak, and some potatoes. Used the IR gun to measure temps and the felt blanket makes a huge difference. Took it apart and cut holes in it in addition to the magnets.

Heat will make rare earth magnets weaker and I have actually put them in the oven to try and reduce strength for wood working projects. Never worked and hope in this case it doesn't either.

Smoked for almost 2 hours on Smoke setting

    done smoking.jpg

IR gun showed ridges of grillgrates running 750°+ set at 500° for the sear which is max temp

    sear.jpg

    Plated

    plated.jpg

Not really. Sea salt on the potatoes and Montreal Steak seasoning on the beef. I wait until done searing the steak on the reverse sear before seasoning. Gets too hot and burnt seasoning is worse than none at all. At least IMO.

    plated seasoned.jpg

I am really starting to like this pellet pooper thing, took longer than the gasser but well worth it to me. Even more smoke flavor than charcoal done like this. But takes longer. A lot less mess to clean up though, especially ash wise.

Nice job on the blanket. Very nice job on the steak. It’s weird once I started doing the steaks on the pooper and got my technique down I just can’t go back to the old way. Yes it takes longer to eat but still less hassle involved for me. :)

Glad to see I'm not the oldest one here!

I was driving back to Houston from Minnesota, back in the days of no XM, when the Bills came back against the Oilers. Absolutely incredible game to listen to.

One of my neighbors has a crazy backyard pool house setup, with multiple big screens, and his own Rec Tec 700. He'll be hosting the games on Saturday, and I'll be bringing some of that jerky over, and perhaps some pork belly bites. He's a Pats fan, but a good guy otherwise!

I laugh every time they show that SKOL thing. The last thing I would have ever introduced in my homeland is 60K+ white people, most of them likkered up, trying to stay in rhythm clapping their hands! The first couple of drum beats are good, but after that, it's a shitshow! They should have just stuck with the chicken dance!
