This is fact. Even new batteries off the shelf have trouble lasting a year. Particularly if you purchase the lower end for the lower price.

Ended up being a dead cell in the battery. Covered under warranty.

All replacement batteries from Toyota are rebadged interstate batteries. The same ones Costco sells. FYI.

Honestly the stock batteries kinda suck, so this doesn't surprise me. You'll be much happier with a new battery anyways, especially when you start to add more electrical accessories.

Left my truck in the garage last week (driving the Wrangler) and the battery was dead. Charged it, dead again a day later. 6k miles.

I’m nearing 50k miles, about 3 years in and have had no issues with it. Still cranks the same way it did from day 1! I do carry a NOCO battery pack though as I know I’m in the territory where it may stop working one of the days.

My 2018 battery died at about a 1000 miles and was replaced by dealership. No reason for why it died so soon.

I killed mine by leaving the seat heaters on in Aux mode. Guess there is no override...

Battery died 2 more times within a week. Took it in and said I wanted a new battery. Never had an issue after that!!

I'll just throw in here that mine was dead this morning. A bit of a surprise, even if it had been sitting for a week. Looks like I'll be getting a new battery. This is disappointing. My electrical system is stock and this is not the reliability I expect from this truck.

As annoyed as I am that the battery failed on my 2 year old Tacoma, I have to give props to Heartland Toyota. They took my truck in with no notice, replaced the battery under warranty, coordinated with the glass shop to fix a chip in my windshield, and then cleaned my truck. All for free.
