    No, more than likely it has three sidewall plies. The letter and alphabet ratings are an artifact of bias ply tires.

    This is why I went with 17s. Couldn’t find 16s in that size that were not E rated. Maybe others can speak up or already have and my impatient mind didn’t see their post.

    Here's a photo at the beach from a couple weekends ago. I've seen bad mileage, good mileage, and it's mostly dependent on skinny pedal. The more you use, the faster the gas gauge goes to "E". I haven't corrected the speedo so the truck computer mileage calculations are off, but I'd say I get around 16 mpg, but as low as 12 pulling my camper on the interstate, and as high as 20+ doing 55 with no load on a highway.
