What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Ditto to Casper66 post. I assume you are using the nylon fishing line trick as well.
It is kinda a warm weather job. Funny, I think Tacos are pretty recognizable. But after I debadged, I had other Taco owners look at mine and ask what kind of truck it is. They are Tacoma owners but apparently not Taco owners.

 

Black & Bronze is just like Black & Gold/Yellow. I agree..They always look sharp together. Nice truck!

 

Yes Sir warm days with warm panels are a help. Fishing line is the trick I’ve had to strip and reuse many emblems over the years it is the easiest and least damaging way to go

 

I have a 2007 SR5 Prerunner v6 toyota tacoma installed this

and now started a small cutting at the back front fender, hammered the metal plate sticking out in both sides planning to fit 35s on a 17x10 wheels That i bought from fb market That im having trouble to fit because its hitting the brake caliper i tried to put a 12mm spacer but i cant screw the wheel so im thinking to buy a 5mm just to clear the caliper i know its not good to put spacers but YOLO and ill do the body chop eventually too

any more help will be appreciated im on a stock bumper and body.

It sounds like the back spacing of your wheels are incorrect. Spacers will be required with those wheels. Unless you're into some serious fast paced offroading spacers will be fine. Tacomas use hub centric wheels which means the tight fit of the hub and the wheel is what centers the wheel in the hub instead of the lug nuts centering them. That means hub centric spacers are required. Tacoma 6 lug hubs have a hub diameter of 106 mm and most spacers specifically built for Tacomas have a hub bore of 106.1 mm. When I bought spacers for my Tacoma I think the thinnest spacers I could find were 3/4" but they were somewhat pricey. I went with 1 1/4" at a little over $100 for 4 spacers. The spacers came with the required extra lug nuts. You can see where the wheel would sit on the spacer at the hub.

By the way, the thicker the spacer the more cutting that's required on the fenders, inner fenders, and mid cab mount.

 

I just realized what type of spacers you want to run, I have no experience with that style other than on 1 Mercedes Benz - the spacers made the steering wheel shake.

 

I wanted the 3/4" ones, but ended up going with 1" because I found a great deal on a used set. I kept them on until I found a good deal on some FJ wheels that had better back spacing. Not my favorite design, but they work.

 

Been sitting on the led bed light kit for over a year finally installed it today for no particular reason.

No, just one. It’s only the 20lb big boi that has two latches.

 

Yeah I guess so. Weird since the 15 and 20 pound bottles are the same height ...but the 20 has an extra inch of diameter. That top latch perfectly covers up the PowerTank logo.

Installed RCI skids today! Got the Front Skid, transmission, and t-case skids.

 

Wired up my @LightforceUSA venoms LEDs tonight..

 

I turned it around so I can start on the bumper first thing tomorrow, I took the picture before I turned it around it’s a front bumper haha
