Arrived today. Super impressed! Fit and finish is excellent, and the socket rail is twist lock (and awesome).

Definitely will get more Tekton sockets!

My best friend is a mechanic who now wrenches for himself on old cars (1930-1960) as a profession. I actually suggested he try Tekton about a year ago because he didn’t want to get Craftsman so he could keep his sockets separate from the other guys stuff and didn’t want to spend a grip. He’s bought a lot of Tekton stuff and only thing he said was the wrenches open up a little with extreme force, but he’s been using the chrome sockets on his impacts also and hasn’t had any issues so far. With the rusty shit he comes across, I felt pretty good about picking these up.

I also checked out Sunex, but happy I went with Tekton. They don’t leave me wanting whatsoever and I like the setup on Tekton’s website with the cash back rewards and shipping.

 

I stopped by HD after work to get staples to put up the Christmas lights and thought they have to have a cordless staple gun out by now.

Sure enough they do. It will make it much easier to put up the lights.

 

Because squeezing is too hard.

Picked up a half size top box for home because I'm not sure I want to commit to another huge mechanics box until I buy a house... That said if I fill this top box too I'm just going straight for a new Milwaukee combo since I like my Milwaukee bottom box pretty well. Not quite as smooth and sturdy as the old Snap-On but fuck if it doesn't hit the value well enough for home.



Now I just need to get organized again, my old box was so full everything is a mess.

 

That's exactly what I have. Milwaukee box and bench, and switched to all m12 and m18 tools. There's a few more m12/18 things I want, like the die grinder and soldering iron, but I'm super stoked on what I do have, and really like the boxes. Can definitely recommend them.

I have the m18 1/2" fuel impact which is awesome, but if I were to only have 1 impact (to start) I would HIGHLY recommend the m12 Stubby impact in either 3/8" or 1/2". I have the 3/8" and it is insane and fits into a tonne of tight spots. I use it the most out of any of my power tools, the m12 ratchet is probably second.

I started at home, but opened my own store/shop so I do use all the tools/boxes professionally now.

 

So you’re telling me the smoke and sizzle isn’t covered under warranty?

I appreciate the advice. I wasn't even looking at a m12 impact, but will now.

Which boxes do you have? I'm probably going to replace most of my tools, then see how much storage I need and decided if I want to switch from the semi-sentimental setup I have now.
