    Does anyone have a problem going uphill or accelerating and slight pinging happens it should run on 87 octane or is it normal thank you have a good holiday and new year ..

    I get occasional pinging when I am too low in RPM and trying to accelerate suddenly, rather than downshifting first. I use 87 octane. The engine has knock sensors and will adjust timing accordingly to prevent the detonation.

    Its normal. Hit the ect button or put in s mode and go to lower gear.
