    So, I've been texting this guy because I think taxidermy is kind of interesting (don't want to do it) but I like seeing the process. This is his shop floor. He just started a couple of years ago and is in the process of teaching himself. (Not trying to advertise, just showing pics)

    its kind of fun, but stinky...Ive only done the skull/euro mount. Definitely takes up some space if you do hides and forms etc...

    he figured 4 1/2. they manage there farm hard.deer was run down bad but still pounding a doe.actually shot it because didnt have eye guards and they try to get them out of the gene pool.

    4.5 is a good deer . The body definitely looked small in comparison to the antlers . That rack would actually be pretty big for around here !

    I was around 23 and deer hunted for around 8 years before I got my first .

    I worked one year for one of the best in our area at the time when i was in college thinkin i would get into it,wasnt for me. not everyone brings in good stuff to work with.let it lay around for days then the hair slips and about half stinks.its an art to make one look natural.ive seen some that look like they have freakin rabies or are riding a Harley. lol

    I believe it. I went to a taxidermist one time...they had a white sheet on the floor with hides hanging above it, ticks were steadily dropping off the hides onto the sheet. They can keep that.
